FAW ISSUE 01 is here. Our first punt at a print mag, made possible by the incredible people who’ve contributed their words, photography and ideas along the way.
UK-based, shipping to Europe and the US. If you need some convincing, keep reading.
What’s on the front? Rafters Below Big Chief, shot by Alex Kelsey in West Chichagof-Yakobi Wilderness, Alaska. Guaranteed to pop alongside your other cool outdoor mags.
Who’s inside? Featuring contributions from Alex Kelsey, Black Girls Hike, CIMORO, Field Blends, GRAB Collective, hiked.up, James Sackey, Mack Dyer, Mañana Outdoors, OUTO, The Peak Divide.
What’s it about? Packrafting, skiing, running, hiking, cooking, community, gear or just finding a nice spot to take a breather. Being outdoors can mean many things to many people, and Issue 01 is an attempt to celebrate that.
How much room do I need? Enough for 148×210mm, or 92 pages of 100% recycled paper. That’s an efficient use of space on any coffee table, shelf or rack.
Feel Alive Wandering is a collection of stories and conversations that explore the many ways in which people interpret being outdoors.
What links those behind the narratives we share is not the height climbed, distance travelled or clobber donned; it’s a common curiosity for adventure and connection - the wandering pursuit of immaterial moments that make us feel alive.
We want to broaden our collective understanding of what it means to be outdoors, remove preconceptions and find new perspectives through which to experience the world around us.
A huge thanks to the contributors for making this happen. If you’re feeling what this project is about, any support goes such a long way.
